How to play

your handWhoever empties their hand first is the ”daimyo”. Whoever is left at the end is the ”foot soldier.” Four players compete for rank.

Card strength is 3 → 4 → … → K → A → 2 → 𝕁 (Joker) in order, with 2 as the highest rank and the Joker strongest as a lone card.

With fieldSame count, same shape, and you may play a stronger card. When you can’t or don’t want to play, choose ”Pass.” When everyone passes the field clears, and the last to play becomes the lead.

Play multiple= two or more of the same number.Run= a run of 3 or more in the same crest.

Revolution (Gekokujo)= the same number4 cards is played, the order flips! Weak cards become strong. Another revolution restores it.

Eight cut= play including an 8 and the field clears, letting you play again right after.

By clearing a stageAshigaru → Samurai → Warlord → Daimyo. On promotion your dealt hand grows more favorable, special rules unlock, and the merit for first place increases.
